run SANCTUARY.EXE

The APC write-up is still a work in progress, largely due to some issues transferring software to the machine. The machine’s got three main OS, CP/M-86, UCSD P-SYSTEM, and a special port of MS-DOS (which can’t run any DOS software designed for IBM compatible PCs due to architectural differences). Most consumer software for the machine was ported for DOS, but as of yet I don’t have a way to transfer MS-DOS software over serial…and I can’t just transfer the APC build of KERMIT over via floppy since I don’t have anything else that can write double density 8" diskettes. Ordinarily I could key in a BASIC program to remotely load KERMIT, but NEC IS didn’t see fit to license GW-BASIC for DOS since they already had licensed Microsoft’s CP/M-86 interpreter.

In the meanwhile, here are some shots of MS-DOS 2.11 and KERMIT for CP/M-86 running. CP/M cannot read DOS-formatted diskettes and vice versa; while NEC included a DOS utility to read CP/M diskettes it can’t read double sided disks and I have no single sided media handy.
